Biography

Phil Bastiaans, born August 1, 1973 in Maastricht, transcends the role of Dutch racing driver: he has become an ambassador for the sport. His racing career is defined not only by victories and podiums, but by versatility, leadership, and pioneering spirit. Since transitioning from karts to international GT circuits, he has inspired the next generation of Dutch motorsport talent.

A key part of his career is his long-standing collaboration with Porsche AG, where he has worked since 2002 as a supervisor and instructor for worldwide Porsche events. In this role, he has contributed to delivering high-level driving experiences across the globe.

In 2007, he founded Phil Bastian’s Driving Experience, initially created to offer sponsors and clients he met on the track an exclusive opportunity to experience performance driving firsthand. Over time, this evolved into a successful business, organizing high-profile events for major international brands such as Michelin Benelux, Lenovo, and LG. These events included both automotive track experiences and premium lifestyle and incentive trips.

In 2016, the company evolved into APEX Events by Phil Bastian, continuing to expand its portfolio and delivering large-scale, high-end experiences for an even broader international audience.

In 2024, he acquired and began operating a luxury lodge in South Africa, Memory Makers Bush Lodge, located in Hoedspruit, in the heart of the wildlife region.

Career Highlights.

With 194 race starts, 52 wins, 91 podiums, 27 pole positions, and 32 fastest laps, he achieved a 26.8% win rate and a 46.9% podium percentage. His career includes five major championships and strong performances in series such as the Dutch GT4 Championship, Porsche GT3 Cup, Renault Clio V6 Cup, and Renault Clio Cup, as well as endurance events including the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

Since 2002, he has worked with Porsche AG as a supervisor and instructor at worldwide events, contributing to training, development, and competition activities. He also competed in the Clio V6 during the Monaco Formula 1 support race, showcasing his versatility as a driver.
