Phil Bastiaans, born in Maastricht in 1973, is a celebrated race car driver and a distinguished supervisor and instructor for Porsche AG. His motorsport career includes 194 race starts, 52 wins, 91 podiums, 27 pole positions, and 32 fastest laps, with highlights in the Porsche Supercup, FIA GT Series, 24h of Spa-Francorchamps, and other European endurance competitions.
Since 2002, Phil has been instrumental in shaping driver training and high-performance programs with Porsche AG. As an official supervisor and instructor, he leads teams and events across Europe. Through the Phil Bastiaans Driving Experience and Apex-Events, he continues to inspire and guide aspiring drivers and professionals. In Hoedspruit, South Africa, Phil extends his passion for excellence through bespoke hospitality at his luxury lodge Memory Makers Bush Lodge.

Expanded timeline
1990s: Entered the national racing scene, quickly proving his adaptability through early karting and touring car campaigns. He built a strong competitive foundation and developed the technical understanding and racecraft that would define his later career.
2000s: Became a regular name in Dutch and international GT racing, securing multiple victories and establishing himself as a highly respected and technical driver. A major highlight of this period was winning the European Clio Cup Europe, confirming his status as one of the leading talents in the category.
During this era, he also developed strong relationships with international teams and began his long-term collaboration with Porsche AG in 2002. He competed in top-level endurance events, including the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, demonstrating both speed and consistency in one of Europe’s most demanding GT races.
2010-present: Continued competing in GT and endurance racing until retiring from active driving in 2012. After his racing career, he shifted focus toward driver development, motorsport consultancy, and event organization.
He founded Phil Bastiaans Driving Experience, which later evolved into Apex Events in 2016. These companies specialized in high-end corporate motorsport experiences and brand activations for clients such as Samsung and Lenovo, combining driving experiences with premium event execution. Apex Events remained active until 2024.
Since 2002, he has also maintained a long-term professional collaboration with Porsche AG, contributing his expertise within high-performance motorsport environments.
In 2024, he co-founded Memory Makers Bush Lodge in Hoedspruit, South Africa, marking a new chapter focused on hospitality and experience-driven ventures. Alongside this, he continues to be active in driver coaching, talent development, and motorsport consultancy, helping connect drivers with teams and supporting long-term career growth.
